David Town of Your Leadership Matters is an Associate Certified Coach (ACC) accredited by the International Coaching Federation (ICF).

As an Associate Certified Coach, David provides clients with an opportunity to engage in a coaching process that is fundamentally about facilitating movement from a current state to a more desirable future state.  David partners with clients in a thought-provoking and creative process that inspires the client to maximize their personal and professional potential.  Ultimately, whatever the goal – whether it involves working through a leadership issue or a personal development goal – the client chooses the outcome they wish to achieve from a coach who will enable them to “see the light by helping them discover the switch.”

One of the secrets to great leadership is the ability to move forward and the only way to move forward is to find solutions rather than focus on the problems. This is not to say that we should ignore problems or not spend time analyzing them. The key is to spend just enough time on a problem to learn from it and then focus on how to fix it.

Great leaders have the ability to look at a situation, choose a positive approach and make things happen as opposed to falling into the trap of focusing on being a victim. Leadership is often hard work. There is an old expression: “when the going gets tough the tough get going” which reflects a positive character trait that great leaders possess. Ultimately the choice you make with respect to your attitude impacts your destiny.

One way to simplify our understanding of virtues is to sort them into three “buckets” – virtues that exemplify our attitudes, our beliefs and our commitments.
